About Penbloom

Penbloom is a free place for young people to learn how to write a book. It works like the best online schools: short lessons, clear steps, and no cost to anyone.

It was created by Ziad Jweiles, a fantasy author who has published books of his own. Everything here comes from what he learned while writing them, shared so that other young writers can get there faster.

Each course is split into modules, and each module into short lessons with a video, notes you can read, and a small exercise to try. Finish lessons to earn XP, keep your streak alive, and collect badges as you grow through the levels.
