My First Launch — No Plan at All

What actually happened when my first book went live.

What actually happened the day my first book went live? Nothing. I didn't do anything for launch. No plan, no push, it just went live, quietly, like flipping a switch nobody was watching. Nobody bought it in those first days, and looking back, that's not surprising: if nobody knows a book exists, it doesn't matter how good it is underneath, it isn't going to sell itself.

I'm not telling you that as advice. I'm telling you so the rest of this module has an honest before-and-after to compare against, instead of pretending I always knew what I was doing from day one.

What a launch actually is

So if a launch isn't a switch you flip, what is it? It's really just the handful of decisions covered in this module, lined up on purpose instead of happening by accident, or not happening at all: a price you've actually thought about, a cover that's ready to show people, and at least one place you're going to tell people the book exists.

You don't need all three of those polished to call it a launch. You just need to stop treating publish day like it's invisible, the way I did the first time, and start treating it like a day something worth noticing actually happened, which is the whole difference this module is here to teach.
