Which Path Is Right for You

Both paths, trad and self, can genuinely get a finished book into the world. So if they both work, why does it matter which one you pick?

Because “both work” is hiding the real difference underneath it. They don't ask the same thing of you to get there, and picking one without noticing what you're trading away is how people end up resentful of a path they chose on autopilot instead of on purpose.

Questions worth sitting with

Start with control. Do you want total control over your own book, the cover, the release date, every decision along the way, or would you rather trade some of that control for someone else's stamp of approval and access to their audience?

Then there's timing. Do you want this book out in the world now, in your hands, on sale, this year? Or are you okay waiting a year or more for representation and a deal, with no guarantee it ever lands at all?

There's no wrong answer to either question, and you don't have to justify your answer to anyone but yourself. This course is built around the self-publishing path specifically, but knowing why you picked it, rather than just defaulting into it because it was easier to start, will make every decision in the modules ahead easier to make on purpose instead of by accident.
